چکیده

The genetic diversity in the Kilakarsal sheep population was analysed using 25 microsatellite markers by multiplex PCR in five panels and automated DNA sequencer. The number of alleles ranged from 3 to 13 with a mean of 7.6 across loci. The mean effective number of alleles was 3.88. The size and frequencies of the alleles ranged from 80 to 278 bp and from 0.0100 to 0.8000, respectively. The PIC values varied from 0.591 to 0.917 with a mean of 0.831. Only seven out of the 25 loci were in Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium. The mean observed and expected heterozygosity was 0.618 and 0.725, respectively. Sixteen loci had positive FIS values and nine had negative values. The mean FIS was 0.147. Mode-shift analysis revealed a normal L-shaped curve indicating that Kilakarsal population is non-bottlenecked. Results of the present study will help to formulate conservation strategies for the Kilakarsal sheep.

A Review of Microsatellite Marker Usage in the Assessment of Genetic Diversity of Camelus

Camels have been regarded as the desert ship and they play multi-utility role in the world. Estimation of genetic parameters is foremost step towards managing the genetic resources for their conservation and sustainable utilization. Microsatellite markers have been extensively used in cattle, sheep, goat and camels. However, genetic characterization studies on camels has been poorly recorded. T...

Single-nucleotide polymorphism-based genetic diversity analysis of the Kilakarsal and Vembur sheep breeds

AIM The present study was thus undertaken to analyze the genetic diversity of Kilakarsal and Vembur sheep breeds using single-nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) markers within Toll-like receptor (TLR) 3, 5, 6, 9, and 10 genes. MATERIALS AND METHODS Competitive allele-specific polymerase chain reaction (PCR)-based end-point genotyping was performed using real-time PCR to type the SNPs. Allele discr...

Assessing genetic diversity of promising wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) lines using microsatellite markers linked with salinity tolerance

Narrow genetic variability may lead to genetic vulnerability of field crops against biotic and abiotic stresses which can cause yield reduction. In this study a set of 37 wheat microsatellite markers linked with identified QTLs for salinity tolerance were used for the assessment of genetic diversity for salinity in 30 promising lines of hexaploid bread wheat (Triticum aestivum L.). A total of 4...

Genetic Diversity of Iranian and Some of European Grapesrevealed by Microsatellite Markers

In order to characterize Iranian grape (Vitis vinifera L.) germplasm, 136 genotypes were collected from five grape growing regions (Azarbaijan, Qazvin, Kordestan, Khorasan and Fars) and genotyped along with 36 European cultivars using 9 sequence tagged microsatellite sites (STMS) markers. The used set of markers could distinguish all 172 genotypes under study. Altogether 84 polymorphic alleles ...
